Use an MLB in Sequential Mode or in ACL Mode

In release IBM i 6.1 and later, when using a tape media library (MLB) in sequential mode or automatic cartridge loader (ACL) mode, BRMS operations may fail with BRM1382. To circumvent this message, run the following commands:

QSYS/CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1AIHOSTI) TYPE(*CHAR)
QSYS/CHGOBJOWN OBJ(QUSRBRM/Q1AIHOSTI) OBJTYPE(*DTAARA) NEWOWN(QBRMS)

NOTES:

1. In releases IBM i 6.1 and later, the following PTFs or superseding PTFs are required:
             7.2 SI54787
             7.1 SI54786
             6.1 SI54702
    
2. If an IBM i is being hosted by another IBM i that has an attached MLB, the hosted system can only use the MLB attached to the host in sequential mode or ACL mode.
