IBM plans to withdraw the heritage Navigator for i. IBM and Fortra continue to work on the strategy for the BRMS product and its interfaces. As an alternative to accessing BRMS in the heritage Navigator for i, customers can use the BRMS SQL services. 

Starting with PTFs SI80271 (7.3), SI80272 (7.4) and SI80273 (7.5) the BRMS SQL services should be used as the preferred Enterprise User Interface.

Change Hub Administration Options

To change options associated with this Hub that control how backups are monitored for Nodes in this Hub's BRMS Network, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select tab Hub Administration.

  4. Enter the details for the Hub.

Create a Node

To create a new Node to monitor BRMS backups, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Click the Add button on the Hub Center page.

  4. On the Add node page, enter the details for the Node.

Create a Node Policy

To create a new Node Policy that can be referenced by multiple Nodes, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select tab Node Policies.

  4. Click the Add button on the Node policies page.

  5. On the Add node policies page, enter the details for the Node Policy.

Create a Report Definition for a Node

To create a new Report definition to run on a Node, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select Node action Properties.

  4. Select tab Report definitions.

  5. Click the Add button on the Report definitions page.

  6. On the Add report definitions page, enter the details for the Report Definition.

Create a Report Policy

To create a new Report Policy that can be referenced by multiple Report Definitions, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select tab Report Policies.

  4. Click the Add button on the Report policies page.

  5. On the Add report policies page, enter the details for the Report Policy.

Run a Report Definition

To run a Report Definition on a Node, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select Node action Properties.

  4. Select tab Report definitions.

  5. Select Report definition action Run report..

  6. A page will be displayed indicating whether the Report was successful.

NOTE: Do not take any actions until the Report is complete.

Send Reports to Contacts

To have Reports sent to the Contacts for a Node, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select Node action Properties.

  4. Select tab Report definitions.

  5. Select Report definition action Properties.

  6. Click Yes for Send reports to contacts?

View the Report Output for a Node

To view all the Reports that were run on a Node, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select Node action View reports.

  4. Select Report action View report output.

  5. Select Report output action View report.

View the Reports for a specific Report Definition

To view the Report Output for a Report Definition that was run on a Node, follow these steps:

  1. Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services.

  2. Select Enterprise Services.

  3. Select Node action Properties.

  4. Select tab Report definitions.

  5. Select Report definition action View reports.

  6. Select Report action View report output.

  7. Select Report output action View report.
