Setting Up a Move Policy to Move Full Volumes

In releases 7.2 and later, it is possible to set up a move policy to move full volumes through the move policy sequences. To accomplish this, the move policy needs to have *FULL for the Duration.

Example

   20    VAULT         *EXP

The behavior of media using the move policy named AAAA from the example above will be:

  • Full volumes are moved to the Location VAULT when media movement is performed.

  • Full volumes will remain at the Location VAULT until they expire.

  • When any volumes expire, they are moved to the Home location of TAPMLB01
