Set Function using BRM (SETFCNBRM)
The Set Function using BRM (SETFCNBRM) command is used to add or remove miscellaneous functions within BRMS.
Action (ACTION)
Use this parameter to specify if you want to add or remove the specified function.
     *ADD
          Add the specified function.
     *REMOVE
          Remove the specified function.
Â
Function (FUNCTION)
Use this parameter to specify the function you want to add or remove.
     ALWMFDP
Use to configure BRMS to allow multiple parallel volumes to be appended  to the same volume when running a DUPMEDBRM TOSEQNBR(*END)
. The first volume will start on a scratch volume and all other volumes in the parallel set will be appended to that volume until it is full.
Notes:
When doing restores from the duplicated single volume, Parallel resources needs to be set to a minimum and maximum of 1 - PRLRSC(1 1).
Ensure that only expired media is available in the media class specified in the MEDPCY parameter on the DUPMEDBRM command. If there are any active volumes in that media class, they will be appended to.
Restores from the duplicate media may take longer.
When using the auto duplication function with this data area created, jobs need to be submitted to a single threaded job queue.
 APYJRNX
Use to enable BRMS integrated forward recovery of your journal receivers with the Apply Journaled Changes Extend (APYJRNCHGX) command.
 BUEPALL
Use to set the control group exit program format to *BOTH which runs the exit program after each backup item and again at the end of the control group run.
 BUEPFM1
Use to set the control group exit program format to the default format BKUI0100 which runs the exit program after each backup item.
 BUEPFM2
Use to set the control group exit program format to BKUI0200 which only runs the exit program at the end of the control group.
 CGOMITS
Use to configure BRMS to combine control group omits set in a global omit, object list, or GUI omit. By default, omits created with the GUI are given precedence over other omits.
 CHGOWNX
Use when BRMS volumes are owned by a system that is not in the BRMS network. Enables the Start Maintenance for BRM (STRMNTBRM) command to change the owner of expired BRMS volumes that are not owned by a system in the BRMS network. The owner will be changed to the system on which the STRMNTBRM is being run.
Notes:
It is recommended to only add this function on one system in a BRMS network. This will help with contention if multiple systems run STRMNTBRM at the same time.
If STRMNTBRM is run in restricted state, this function will be ignored and no volume ownership changes will occur.
 CLDNFS
Use to override the default *DEV4700 requirement for BRMS cloud control groups named QCLDBIPLnn and QCLDBGRPnn. This will allow these control groups to create virtual optical media of any size which can be used for NFS installs.
 CLDRMCGÂ
Use to remove and refresh the BRMS turnkey cloud control groups when the INZBRM *DATA command is run.
 CLSNONE
Use to allow the selection of any media class that is available in the tape media library or loaded in a tape drive.
Notes:Â
Specify *NONE for the media class in the media policy
Once a density is selected, all additional media being selected in the current job will have to have the same density (cartridge type - LTO).
No mixed densities (cartridge types - LTO) within a media set
If doing parallel saves, all the cartridges will have to have the same density or cartridge type (LTO)
 CRTDOLD
Use to update the creation date of a volume every time data is written to the first sequence on the volume or when QUSRBRM is saved to the volume. Normally the creation date of a volume will only be updated the first time data is written to the first sequence on the volume.Â
 CRTDOLDALL
Use to update the creation date of a volume every time data is written to the volume. Normally the creation date of a volume will only be updated the first time data is written to the first sequence on the volume.
 CTGPMPT Â
Use to force prompting on each of the volumes when option 6 is specified on the Work with Media Library Media (WRKMLMBRM) command to reset the category to be consistent with the BRMS media class.
 IGNRDUP
Use to include both the original save media and the duplicate save media in your recovery report Recovery Volume Summary Report (QP1A2RCY) when *YES is specified for the USEDUPMED parameter.
 IPLSUB
Use to force an IPL if BRMS receives a CPF1099 when it tries to start the controlling subsystem during control group processing.
NEWAPPEND
Use to configure BRMS volumes selection using the media policy specified on the backup rather than the closest expiration date.
 NLSTOMT
Use to omit the *.ini and *.id files and the gtrhome and /tmp directories during Domino server backups. Saving these files or directories while the Domino server is active may make these files or directories unavailable to Domino and potentially cause some unpredictable results within Domino.
Notes:
For the *.ini and *.id files, BRMS recommends periodically making a copy of those objects and saving the copies.
This will only work when using special values *LNKOMTONL or *LTSOMTONL in a control group.
 NMOVINQ
Use to configure BRMS to fail inquiry messages from tape during BRMS movement operations and prevent long delays waiting for a response to an inquiry message.
 NOLTSCFG
Use to turn off Lotus Configuration during STRMNTBRM, INZBRM *DATA or Slip Install or Upgrade. This will prevent the creation and update of the QLTS* named control groups.
 NOPING
Use to configure BRMS to stop using the PING command before every BRMS activity that involves communications.
 NOSYSBP
Use to configure BRMS to fail rather than bypass a SAVSYS if the partition is unable to reach restricted state.
 NOSYSCK
Use to stop checking for same system when picking media and the network cannot ensure the media is available. This function only works for stand-alone drives, it is ignored when using tape media libraries.
Caution: Data could be lost.
 NOVFY
Use to stop the VFYIMGCLG of the optical image catalog associated with the backup of control group QNFSIPLFUL. Running VFYIMGCLG can be a long process that can be delayed until the image files have been restored on the system used to host the NFS server. To improve the backup performance of control group QNFSIPLFUL and delay the VFYIMGCLG processing until restore time use this function.Â
 NOVFYM
Use to allow media that has movement verification pending to be selected as a candidate for save or duplication. By default, BRMS volumes that need to have movement verified will not be selected as append candidates.
ONLYBRM
Use to block initializing and writing to media not enrolled in the BRMS inventory to prevent users from inadvertently overwriting media created by a partition not participating in a BRMS network group. Add this functions and set the Auto enroll media field in the system policy to *NO. Attempts to write or initialize tapes not enrolled in the BRMS inventory will result in message BRM3D1D with reason code 0010.
 PRM
Use to indicate if MLB media should be ejected during media movement or movement verification.
RMTEJT
Use to eject media from an MLB that is not configured on the local system. If media that is being moved is owned by another system and the media is in an MLB that is not configured on the system doing movement, BRMS will attempt to eject the volume from the MLB on the system that owns the volume. The systems need to be in the same BRMS network.Â
 RPTRETN
Use to generate an additional retention report section for VTL sizing when using the PRTRPTBRM command.
 UTEST
Used to collect additional tracing information for service support.
Notes:
When this data area exists, performance of BRMS applications will be affected.
It is recommended to increase the size of the BRMS flight recorder size in the system policy to the maximum size.
Scope (SCOPE)
Use this parameter to specify the scope of the function you want to add or remove.
       *JOB
The function applies only to the current job.
       *SYS
The function applies to all jobs.
Note: This parameter is only valid for the following functions:
BUEPALL, BUEPFM1, BUEPFM2, CGOMITS, CLDNFS, NEWAPPEND, NMOVINQ, NOSYSBP, NOVFY
