Troubleshooting User Interface Problems in Enterprise
IBM plans to withdraw the heritage Navigator for i. IBM and Fortra continue to work on the strategy for the BRMS product and its interfaces. As an alternative to accessing BRMS in the heritage Navigator for i, customers can use the BRMS SQL services.Â
Starting with PTFs SI80271 (7.3), SI80272 (7.4) and SI80273 (7.5) the preferred interface for BRMS Enterprise is BRMS SQL services.
Ensure the Latest Level of BRMS GUI Code is Enabled
IBM System i Navigator (GUI)
The BRMS plug-in should always be uninstalled and re-installed whenever a BRMS PTF is applied to get the latest level of BRMS code on your PC. See the PTF cover letter for more information.
IBM Navigator for i (web)
The TCP/IP HTTP server should be ended and re-started whenever a BRMS PTF is applied to get the latest level of BRMS code for your browser. See the PTF cover letter for more information.
General IBM Navigator for i Problem Determination
To troubleshoot IBM Navigator for i (web) problems, run the following commands from a green screen command line on the Hub:
STRQSH
From the QSHELL command line run the following:
/QIBM/ProdData/OS/OSGi/LWI71/native/lwihealth.sh admin2 /home/admin2hc.txt
PF3 to Exit after command is finished.
Two files were generated that can be viewed using the DSPF
 command:
'/home/admin2hc.txt' - complete log from the health check
'/home/admin2hc.summary.txt' - potential problems from the health check log
Pop-up Blockers
During normal Enterprise activity, Enterprise may display new windows so pop-up blockers must be disabled for BRMS Enterprise.
