List of BRMS Service Packs
The BRMS service packs fix multiple APARs. BRMS bundles multiple fixes into one PTF in order to maximize testing effectiveness and minimize installation complexity. The APARs that are fixed by a particular PTF are listed in the cover letter that you can access by clicking on the PTF number.
BRMS Service Packs are released every 3 months. The following is the planned schedule but is subject to change:
March 15
June 15
September 15
December 15
It is recommended that BRMS PTFs should be applied immediate. The BRMS PTF exit program performs SQL operations which can cause unexpected delays and results if the BRMS PTF is applied delayed at the same time as DB related PTFs.
After installing the BRMS PTF, run STRMNTBRM.
NOTES:
All BRMS activity must be stopped while BRMS PTFs are being applied. In 7.1 and above, when a CUM package is loaded, BRMS PTFs may be applied. After BRMS PTFs have been applied, users must sign off and on again before using BRMS.
BRMS PTFs should not be loaded on a system when it is in FlashCopy mode. The FlashCopy status needs to be *END. To verify the Flash copy status, run the following command:
CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('FLSSYSSTS ' '*DISPLAY')
Systems in a BRMS network can be at different IBM i releases. However, the systems in a BRMS network must all be at currently supported releases. It is also important to keep all the systems in the network at the same BRMS PTF level. BRMS PTFs (service packs) for all supported releases are released at the same time on a quarterly basis.
