Support for San Volume Controller (SVC) and Storwize V7000 copy services
PowerHA SystemMirror for i now contains integrated support for San Volume Controller (SVC) and Storwize V7000 Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and FlashCopy. With this support, customers can configure and manage an IASP-based replication environment utilizing the copy services functionality on these external storage devices.
This environment can be configured and managed through PowerHA commands. The following commands are now supported to configure and manage SVC and V7000 replication:
Copy Descriptions: ADDSVCCPYD, CHGSVCCPYD, RMVSVCCPYD, DSPSVCCPYD
Sessions: STRSVCSSN, CHGSVCSSN, ENDSVCSSN, DSPSVCSSN
The WRKASPCPYD command will show all existing copy descriptions for SVC and V7000 as well as the DS8000.
This support was originally made available in October 2011 via a no-charge PRPQ. With this latest PTF, the PRPQ is no longer required and this enhancement is fully supported and translated in the PowerHA product.
