Reverse FlashCopy Support with Metro Mirror & Global Mirror
PowerHA now supports the reverse FlashCopy operation on independent auxiliary storage pools (IASP) that are members of metro mirror and global mirror replication. The CHGASPSSN OPTION(*REVERSE) can be used on a FlashCopy ASP session to copy data from a FlashCopy target to a FlashCopy source that is a member of metro mirror or global mirror. NOTE: since the IASP is being replicated the data changed as part of the reverse FlashCopy will be sent to the target of the metro or global mirror relationship.
PowerHA also supports the reverse FlashCopy operation when no background copy is performed (no copy). The CHGASPSSN OPTION(*REVERSE) can be used on a FlashCopy ASP session to copy data from a FlashCopy target to a FlashCopy source of the no copy FlashCopy. NOTE: performing this operation will also destroy the FlashCopy relationship itself.
