Allow MONSWABRM to Monitor For One Save-While-Active Checkpoint Message - Q1ASYNCMSG

In October 2013, BRMS PTFs (7.1 SI50292, 6.1 SI50291) were released which enhanced the Monitor Save While Active (MONSWABRM) command to monitor for save-while-active checkpoint messages from more than one save.

Prior to the October 2013 PTFs, the MONSWABRM command only monitors for a save-while-active message from one save even if there was more than one save associated with the backup.

In release IBM i 6.1 and later, to revert back to MONSWABRM behavior from before the October 2013 PTFs, run the following commands:

  • CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1ASYNCMSG) TYPE(*CHAR)
  • CHGOBJOWN OBJ(QUSRBRM/Q1ASYNCMSG) OBJTYPE(*DTAARA) NEWOWN(QBRMS)
