Administrative Domain Now Uses QCSTJOBD
IBM initiated jobs which run as part of administrative domain will now use the QCSTJOBD job description instead of the QBATCH job description. The owning user profile will now be QCLUSTER. The PTF will also change the QCSTJOBD job description from PUBLIC(*EXCLUDE) to PUBLIC(*USE).
The QCSTJOBD job description uses the QSYSNOMAX job queue which runs in the QSYSWRK subsystem, instead of the QBATCH job queue running in the QBATCH subsystem.
When the QBATCH job queue in the QBATCH subsystem was used, occasionally the ‘Max Active Jobs’ would be set to 1, which could cause issues with PowerHA and cluster jobs. By using the QCSTJOBD job description, the ‘Max Active Jobs’ can be more easily set to *NOMAX for PowerHA jobs without impacting other user workload.
