BRMS uses two unique subsystems

BRMS has two subsystems it uses. Both these subsystem descriptions are in the QBRMS library and should not be changed.

The subsystems are Q1ABRMNET and Q1ABRMENT:

Q1ABRMNET

This subsystem is used for BRMS network synchronization, sending email alerts, and synchronizing cartridge status using BRMS to update status of cartridges on TS3xxx and TS2900 tape media libraries.

The following jobs will run in this subsystem

• QBRMNET - The job monitors the BRMS journal receivers for changes to BRMS files and will then start the QBRMSYNC job.

• QNMAPINGD - This job is used to ping systems in the network befor starting DDM functions.

• Q1ACPDST - This job is used to distribute emails and synchronize tape cartridge status

• QBRMSYNC   - This job handles the synchronization of the BRMS data bases changes between systems in the BRMS network. The job only runs when records needs to be processed and ends once the records have been processed.

NOTES: 

1. If the system is part of a BRMS network and any of these jobs are not running, BRMS will end and restart when BRMS maintenance is run.

2. If the system is not part of a BRMS network and the QNMPINGD or Q1ACPDST jobs are not running, BRMS will end and restart when BRMS maintenance is run.

This subsystem is used when the BRMS Enterprise function is configured
