BRMS supports parallel backup and restore functions with IBM Cloud Storage Solutions for i.
In release 7.3 and later, parallel backups and restores and support for FlashCopy environments is available with the following PTFs:

For a Cloud parallel save, the parallel minimum device resources are required to be *SAV for restores, the same number of devices used for the save needs to be specified. BRMS recommends a value no larger than 12 for Parallel device maximum resources.
Optical devices do not support parallel. Backups that resolve to use media class QCLDVRTOPT, like control groups QCLDIPL01 and QCLDGRP01, will override the parallel device resource settings to run a serial backup.
