When using BRMS to restore a systems data to another system for a DR test or to build another system, care needs to be taken to avoid loss of BRMS history on the original system.

Part of the process when restoring data using BRMS to a system with different network attributes is to run a INZBRM OPTION(*CHGSYSNAM). This is done in the following step of the recovery report:

STEP xxx :Update System Name in BRMS Media Information

To prevent updates from synchronizing to the source system and network , make sure the QBRM/Q1ABRMNET subsystem is not started. Note that certain functions in BRMS may start the BRMS subsystem if the system is not in a restricted state

Once you have renamed the BRMS history information and restored the system, remove the system from the network using the following wiki

Once you have restored the data on the system and you plan on adding the system to the same BRMS network as the source system, and the source system will still be active, run the following command to reset the BRMS data base:
    INZBRM OPTION(*RESET)
