How to Use the Submit Remote Command (SBMRMTCMD) Command with BRMS

Do not use the Submit Remote Command (SBMRMTCMD) command to directly run BRMS operations (MOVMEDBRM, STRMNTBRM, etc) on other systems. For example, it is not correct to use SBMRMTCMD to run the Move Media using BRM (MOVMEDBRM) command - SBMRMTCMD CMD('MOVMEDBRM').

However, indirection, by way of a batch job, can be used to run BRMS operations on other systems. For example, SBMRMTCMD can be run on the source system with the Move Media using BRM (MOVMEDBRM) command specified for the Command to run (CMD) parameter on the Submit Job (SBMJOB) command - SBMRMTCMD CMD('SBMJOB CMD(MOVMEDBRM)'). By running MOVMEDBRM in a batch job on the target system, the MOVMEDBRM command is not being directly issued by the SBMRMTCMD command.
