Using Relational Database (RDB) Entries For All BRMS Enterprise Communications

BRMS Enterprise can use relational database (RDB) entries for all of its network operations.  Because RDB entries allow fully qualified domain names (FQDN) to be specified for the Remote location: Name or address, fully qualified domain names can now be used for BRMS communications.

To enable RDB entries for all BRMS network operations on an Enterprise node, the following values must be specified on the BRMS GUI client EnterpriseServices->HubCenter->NodeProperties->Communications panel:

  • APPC name should be *NONE
  • TCP/IP name should be *NONE
  • Relational database should be set to an RDB entry name
