Media that is shared between systems in a BRMS network is owned by one of the systems in the network. A system can only write to media that it owns. If a system runs out of media to write to, BRMS will attempt to take ownership of media owned by another system in the network. Normally, this occurs by having the system connect to the system that owns the media and have that system change the ownership. Therefore, if the system cannot connect to the system that owns the media, it cannot take ownership of the media.
The following command can be run to allow a system to take ownership of media even if the system cannot connect to the system that owns the media:
CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1ANOSYSCK) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(1)
