Because BRMS performs the backup to local media or media images, the backup system requires at least as much storage space as the size of the backup. When using virtual optical images to store a backup, significantly more storage space may be required.
When using cloud turnkey control groups as your primary backup strategy for multiple systems, BRMS recommends not adding the systems into a BRMS network. BRMS internally generates unique volume names for turnkey backups and duplicate volume names may be generated when the systems are in restricted state or when the BRMS network synchronization job is not working. BRMS is working to resolve this limitation and remove this recommendation in a future PTF.
Using BRMS and cloud-based storage
